Abstract

Abundance determination of barium in a sample of metal poor stars has been performed using high resolution, high S/N ratio spectra. These data have been combined with recent abundance determinations of europium. A plot of [Eu/H] as a function [Ba/H] shows a tight correlation with a single slope different from 45deg. The interpretation of these data does not seem to require the hypothesis of an r-process synthesis of barium in the early galactic history.
