Abstract

The authors compare the relative spatial distributions of emission-line galaxies (ELGs) with normal galaxies that lie in the area of the sky included in the "Slice of the Universe" survey. In particular, the authors are interested in learning whether the equivalent information on large-scale structure can be obtained from the three-dimensional distribution of ELGs alone. They chose this region because it is one of only a few portions of the sky for which sufficiently deep redshift information exists for a large sample of normal galaxies. The results of the comparison are discussed and compared with previous studies.
