Abstract

A region of the Coma Supercluster has been imaged at 74 MHz with the VLA to search for faint intergalactic emission beyond the Coma cluster itself. A suit of separate, but coordinated searches of similar fields has been undertaken at frequencies of 0.33 0.42, and 1.4 GHz, involving various combinations of the VLA, the WSRT, the Effelsberg 100m, GBT 110m, Arecibo 305m and NRC-DRAO telescopes. The results, and the scientific motivation, connected to current research programs at LANL, point to potentially important astrophysical and cosmological roles in store for the US Southwest Consortium Long Wavelength Array.
