Abstract

Long slit spectrograms of selected regions of the radio galaxy NGC 5128 have been obtained. The spectrograms confirm the presence of early type stars in or near the dust belt of this peculiar elliptical galaxy. These early type stars seem to corotate with the gas in the dust belt. But no rotation of the elliptical main body of the galaxy could be detected.
